Hey, I'm Martín.
I've been doing product for eleven years, most of it in places where the thing was still being invented. I live in Barcelona. I work in Spanish, English and enough Portuguese to run a squad in São Paulo without an interpreter.
Two of my own products are live right now, and a third I built for a client. You can open all three from Projects and poke at them; none of this is a case study about someone else's roadmap.
Background
I joined Gelt as its first employee in 2015, when it was a cashback idea and a backlog. I ran operations, which at a company that size means you also run delivery: the mobile app, the backoffice, the CRM, the website, all of it from concept to launch.
By 2020 I'd moved into product properly as Global Product Manager, with four Product Owners across six squads and the global roadmap. We launched in four LATAM markets and went from zero to 4M active users in eight months, 115% of the annual growth KPI. I'm happy to walk anyone through how that actually happened, because it's a better story than the number is.
After Gelt I went deep into regulated payments: KYC flows across five markets at Codere Online, then payments, retention and marketplace work at Bluma in São Paulo, remote from Barcelona with a squad of ten. Stripe and PIX, payment failure from 18% down to 4%.
Interests
Building my own things is my version of a hobby, except they stayed up. Minerva is in production with commercial partners in Brazil, Ceramicoso is live and growing its catalogue one studio visit at a time, and Bebi Puig-Pey is a filmmaker's working portfolio.
Right now I'm into:
This site is part of it: every page written by hand, the CSS too, and then ported to Next.js so it deploys like everything else I build. Outside of that it's ceramics, which is how Ceramicoso started, and long arguments about whether a roadmap is a plan or a wish.
Current Role
I'm Partner Product Engineer at FrameX Labs in Barcelona, where I get handed business problems rather than specs: discovery, scope, build, launch. Clients include Natura, Prosegur, AJA and Codeworks.
Before that: payments, retention and marketplace work at Bluma in São Paulo with a squad of ten; KYC across five markets at Codere Online with a squad of twelve; and eight years at Gelt, from first employee to Global Product Manager.
I'm looking for a Product Manager or Product Owner role on something with real users and real constraints — payments, marketplaces, health, anywhere the domain punishes guessing. Barcelona on site or hybrid, or remote for a European, LATAM or US team. Freelance and fractional in between.
